Luton airport (LTN) - Serving London

Luton Airport LTN

London's fourth largest airport, Luton Airport is one of five international airports found in and around London. Situated 30 miles north of London, Luton Airport is the fifth busiest Flights to Lutonairport in the country, serving as a base airport for budget airline EasyJet.

With over 10 million passengers travelling out of the airport each year, London Luton Airport has gained the attention of many other low cost carriers and is now one of the leading airports for European destinations such as Amsterdam, Malaga and Ibiza.

Unlike most airports, Luton Airport is not easily accessible by rail and relies on many of its passengers coming via car or bus and shuttle services. Passengers coming by car can easily reach the airport via the M1, while EasyBus, GreenLine Coaches and National Express all have direct services. If you are travelling by train, it is best to go to St Pancras Train Station, where you are able to get a shuttle bus service.

Despite being the UK's fifth busiest airport, Luton Airport only has a single terminal. The terminal underwent a major refurbishment in 1999 when £40 million was spent redesigning it, to include premier bars, restaurants, shops and over 60 check-in counters for visitors.

The airport has come a long way in the past 60 years. During World War II, the airfield was used as a base for RAF fighter planes, but today, it is the airport of choice for many of the UK's holiday makers looking to visit exotic locales in Europe and North Africa.
