Excel Exhibition Centre Beginners Guide

The Excel Exhibition Centre, also known as ExCel London, is one of London's leading exhibition and convention centres and has hosted a wide variety of events, from art exhibitions to international conferences to award ceremonies and company product launches. It is one of the leading industry resources in the city for public and industry Excel exhibiton centreevents, and prides itself on providing a great day or evening out for its clients.

Found on London's waterfront, the London Excel Exhibition Centre is found in the heart of London, close to the centre of the Royal Docks. It is part of a large 100 acre campus that is close to numerous public transport links including the Jubilee Line and the city's central airport London City Airport. As it so close to the airport, the centre is close to several hotels, five of which are on-site, a large car park (enough for almost 4,000 cars) and a large number of bars and restaurants.

The £500 million centre was opened in November 2000, after being constructed by Sir Robert McAlpine. Eight years later, it was purchased by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company who renovated the building in 2010, with a £165 million expansion that saw the centre's capacity increase by 50 percent. Over £13 million was also invested into the centre's internet infrastructure so that delegates would have access to high-speed broadband.

Today, the Excel Exhibition Centre has two large, sub dividable halls, catering facilities, three sets of function rooms and 45 smaller meeting rooms, ideal for any business function. The centre's main room, the ICC Auditorium, can accommodate over 5,000 visitors.
